The Chat and Chew — Mom's Favorite Spot Turned Ours Too We're in town for the month visiting my mother, and The Chat and Chew is her go-to spot, so naturally, we had to see what all the fuss was about. Four weeks and more visits than we can count later, we get it completely. We've recently made the call that our reviews will mostly stay focused on hotels, but every so often a place is good enough that it demands an exception. This is one of those places. The heart of this spot is owner Kim. She's the life of the party, full stop, and that energy runs straight through her whole team. Natalie, Molly, and Kristin all bring that same warmth, and it's the kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel like a regular, even on visit one. We've worked our way through a good chunk of the menu across breakfast, lunch, and dinner (open until 6:30). Made-to-order coffees and teas start the day off right, and the bagels with cream cheese are a solid go-to. The club sandwich delivers, and the made-in-house fresh chicken pasta salads are genuinely excellent, we kept coming back for those. Dropped in for a quick coffee the other morning and ended up staying longer than I planned. The place has a nice chill vibe, not too loud, which I really appreciated. My latte was pretty good, maybe a little on the sweet side but still enjoyable. The barista was friendly, even gave me a suggestion since I couldn’t decide what to get lol. Seating is a bit limited, so I got lucky finding a spot. Prices are about what you’d expect these days. Overall, it’s a solid coffee shop and I’d prob come back again when I’m in the area.

Love love love the atmosphere of this place, so cute and quaint. The food is very good. I had a bagel and an Italian soda. The service was great they were super sweet and polite. Would definitely go again!

Very nice place to make a pit stop on the way to Raleigh! We ordered flatbreads and they are excellent and freshly made. There was an almond croissant too but we inhaled it faster than shutter speed 😂 The interior is cute, seating comfy and there is a small studio to paint figurines to the side
